Had a client ask for a fade while his kid was having a meltdown in the chair.
It was hard to focus with all the noise. Ended up being a decent cut despite the chaos.

Have a simple toy ready to hand the kid. It cuts the noise and lets you focus.

My niece used to get so loud during family dinners until my sister started keeping a little bag of quiet toys in her purse. Rotating between a fidget spinner, a few small animal figures, and some stickers keeps it fresh for her. It's not just about the noise, it really seems to calm her down when she's overstimulated too. That little bit of focus they get from the toy gives everyone a much needed break.

Wait, stickers work for a whole meal?

Fidget spinners are still in use? I assumed those had faded out years ago. The idea that stickers can maintain a child's silence through a meal seems unlikely. Your sister must possess some hidden talent if that method consistently works. My attempt at quiet toys once resulted in a permanent marker on the wall. Perhaps the secret is in the rotation.
