Finally finished that 10-hour crime doc I kept putting off

I spent $15 renting the last episode of The Jinx on Amazon because my free trial ran out halfway through. Honestly, I was kicking myself at first because I thought I could just wait for it to hit streaming again. But man, that final episode where Robert Durst messes up in the bathroom was wild. I binged the whole series in like three nights after work and it totally messed up my sleep schedule. Ngl, the $15 felt like a waste until that ending scene happened and I just sat there staring at my TV. Has anyone else paid for a single episode of something and actually been glad they did?

Oh man, same thing happened to me with the final season of The Americans. I was so mad I paid $12 for that last episode but the payoff was totally worth it.

I read somewhere that the Jinx finale actually helped change laws about how confessions are handled in court. The way he muttered to himself in that bathroom, thinking the mic was off, was just such a bizarre moment. I remember the first time I saw it, I had to rewind it twice because I could not believe what I was hearing. It is rare that a documentary actually delivers on that level of payoff, so your $15 was probably a solid investment.

And seriously, that bathroom scene is the most insane reality TV moment ever. @umar49 you're totally right, I had to watch it three times because my brain couldn't process what I heard. It's like something out of a movie, just this guy accidentally admitting everything. Reminds me of when I was watching Making a Murderer and the payoff with all those phone calls just hit different. That's the kind of documentary that makes you forget you're even watching a show, you know?
