Yeah @amy_west is right but The Wire hooks you way earlier than Sopranos does.

Honestly, you made the right call? Tbh I did the same thing a few years back and The Wire just grabs you from the jump. @amy_west is right that you haven't even hit the best stuff yet, but honestly the show only gets better from here. Ngl, once you finish The Wire you should still go back and watch Sopranos though, they're both classics but in totally different ways. Just do yourself a favor and take notes on the characters cause that show has a ton of them and it gets confusing real fast. You're in for a hell of a ride man.
