My brother told me to skip the first season of 'The Wire' and I'm glad I didn't listen
He said the first season was too slow and to start with season two. I tried it his way and was totally lost with the new dockworker characters. I went back and watched from the beginning, and that first season setting up McNulty and the Barksdale crew was key. Anyone else get bad advice about where to start a show?
I mean honestly at that point why not just skip the whole show and watch the finale first? Skip the first season of The Wire is like skipping the first chapter of a book because it's got too many words. Glad you didn't listen, because starting the Wire with the dockworker plot is just chaos lol.
What about shows where the pilot is just a bad episode? I tried watching the first episode of Parks and Rec a few years ago and hated it. A friend had to beg me to skip to season two, and that totally worked for me.
