Unpopular opinion: Canned beans beat dried beans for weeknight meals and I'll die on this hill
I've been seeing so many posts about soaking dried beans overnight and how much cheaper they are. Tbh, I tried that for 3 weeks straight and hated it. I forgot to soak them twice and ended up ordering pizza. Canned beans cost about $1.20 a can at my local Aldi in Ohio and I can throw them into chili or tacos in 5 minutes flat. My dried beans were like 80 cents a pound but the time and planning just isn't worth it for me. Has anyone else given up on dried beans after a few failed attempts?

My Aldi in Columbus has them for $0.95 a can on a good day and I just grabbed 6 cans of black beans for a taco night that literally took me 10 minutes from start to plate. Dried beans sound great in theory but have you actually tried to time them right when you get home from work at 6pm and everyone is hungry by 7? I forgot to soak them twice in a row last winter and ended up ordering Chinese food both times, cost me way more than canned ever would. So what's your go-to canned bean recipe that saves you the most hassle on a busy night?

cost me way more than canned ever would" - bro it's beans. You're acting like you missed a mortgage payment. Just rinse the canned ones, toss em in a pan with some cumin and garlic powder, done. @jasonf35 you're overthinking dinner.

Heard canned beans are actually healthier sometimes because dried ones can have toxins if not cooked right.
