I finally fixed a drawer alignment issue that took 3 days longer than it should have

So I had this kitchen job where the drawer fronts were all off by like a quarter inch... looked terrible. I spent a whole day adjusting slides, thinking it was the hardware. Then another day shimming and measuring. Turns out the cabinet boxes themselves were racked from installation. I had to loosen all the screws, square them up, and re-tighten. Three days for something that should've been caught in 20 minutes if I checked the boxes first. Has anyone else spent way too long chasing a problem that was actually something simple?

You're killing me with this one. Three days on slides and shims before checking the boxes. I've done the same thing more times than I'll admit. You get so focused on one part you forget to step back and look at the big picture. It's always the simple stuff that bites you in the ass.

See it the other way... sometimes you gotta nail the details first before you even know what boxes matter.

Had a buddy do that once @viola_lopez30 got the shims perfect and realized the whole frame was off by an inch
