Had my project management software crash mid-sprint, lost 3 hours of updates

I was updating task dependencies for our quarterly launch in Trello last Tuesday when the whole board froze and then reset. Everything I had moved and reordered over three hours just vanished. I learned the hard way that Trello doesn't auto-save changes instantly, so I lost all that work. Now I make a habit of hitting "refresh" every 15 minutes or so to force a save. Has anyone else run into this with a specific tool, or found a better way to prevent data loss?

Reminds me of when I was working on a shared Google Doc with a colleague and we kept overwriting each other's edits without realizing it. We finally figured out we had to take turns typing or set up a simple call to coordinate. Sometimes the more collaborative the tool is, the easier it is to lose track of who's doing what.

Ngl I feel your pain, Trello ate my grocery list once and I still haven't forgiven it.

Wait, has anyone talked about how these apps sometimes glitch when you're offline? Cause I had a whole project board vanish when my wifi cut out mid-sync. It wasn't even a complicated list, just basic tasks, and poof, gone forever. Support basically said "sorry, should have saved a backup." But who thinks to backup a grocery list every time their cat walks across the keyboard? Feels like they'd rather blame us than admit their software has bugs. Maybe that's why I still use sticky notes for important stuff, low tech but at least I can blame gravity if they get lost.
