Realized last month that my resume was holding me back

I was stuck applying to jobs for three years with no callbacks until a friend pointed out my resume was all tasks instead of results. I rewrote it last week to show how I saved $12,000 on a project, and now I have three interviews lined up. Anyone else had a similar wake-up call about their resume?

The "30% cut in wait time" thing is good, but I'd check that number. A 30% cut usually needs a solid before and after metric to back it up, or recruiters might think it's made up. Just saying "cut wait time by 30%" without showing the starting point can feel a bit flimsy on its own.

Oh man, that "tasks vs results" thing hit home for me. I spent two years sending out the same boring resume listing what I did every day, like "answered customer calls" and "filed reports." A former coworker finally told me to show numbers instead of duties, so I changed it to "cut customer wait time by 30%" and "handled 50+ support tickets a week." Night and day difference. I started getting interviews within a month after that.

Wait, did you really see that big of a difference just from rewording it that way?
