Saved a failing project by breaking it into tiny steps

My team was stuck on a big deadline and morale was low. I started setting tiny, daily goals that we could actually hit, and it boosted everyone's spirit! How do you handle projects when they start to go bad?

What made you switch from big tasks, and did you see @sean_green44's point about tiny wins?

Yeah, listing tiny wins first... that's how I push past roadblocks.

Actually, I do the opposite. I have to list the big, scary thing first or I'll avoid it forever. Knocking out the hard task makes the rest of the day easy. What kind of roadblocks are you usually hitting?

Wait, I was totally a "big task first" person too. Tried to power through a full client audit in one go and just froze up. Switched to just fixing one report section per day last month. Felt silly at first, but watching the progress bar actually move changed everything for me.
