Spent $180 on a Festool track saw and it burned me bad

I bought a Festool TS 55 track saw thinking it would change my life cutting plywood. Paid $180 for a used one off Craigslist, but the guy didn't mention the blade was warped. First cut on a sheet of birch, it chattered and left burn marks all over. Took me two hours to realize the arbor was bent too. Now I'm stuck with a paperweight until I find replacement parts. Anyone else get burned buying used tools from random sellers?

$180 for a lesson in why you always check the blade before handing over cash. Nothing like a warped arbor to turn your dream tool into an expensive desk ornament. Festool parts aren't cheap either so that's a real kick in the pants. At least now you have an excuse to buy a new one and pretend the old one never existed.

I knew a guy who bought a Festool track saw with a bent blade and it still cut perfectly straight for years, so maybe that $180 just bought you a weird conversation starter that works fine. Your mileage may vary but I'd try using it before writing it off completely.

Buddy of mine bought the same saw and the arbor was fine, just needed a new blade.
