Vent: My first time deboning a whole chicken took me 45 minutes
Every video I watched made it look like a 5 minute job, but I kept hitting joints wrong and mangling the meat. Ended up with a usable breast and thighs but the carcass looked like a crime scene. How long did your first real butchering attempt actually take?
honestly I used to be one of those guys who thought it couldn't be that hard and people just needed to practice more. then I tried it myself for the first time last month and yeah it took me a full hour and I had chicken bits everywhere. the videos make it look so smooth but real life is way messier and your joints just don't pop the same way. I ended up with shreds instead of nice pieces but the stock was killer so at least there's that. now I have a lot more respect for anyone who can do it clean and fast.
