Realized I was totally overcomplicating my bookkeeping after a quick chat with a CPA at a Detroit mixier

I was spending like 4 hours every Sunday night manually sorting receipts into categories for my pest control business. Thought I had to do it that way because some old-school accountant told me so years ago. Then I talked to this CPA at a tech meetup in Corktown who showed me he just snaps photos with his phone and lets software tag everything automatically. Took me a weekend to switch over and now I save probably 3 hours a week. Has anyone else found a better way to handle the little stuff like this?
