Customer asked me if my hidden cam was a plant pot last Tuesday

I spent 3 hours wiring a fake succulent with a pinhole lens and she thought it was a real plant. Has anyone else had someone spot your rig for the wrong reason?

and that's the thing with hidden cameras, half the battle is just making them look like something boring nobody would touch. but logan658 is right, you're lucky she didn't freak out and call the cops on your "fever dream" fern, because some people see a weird pot and immediately think you're filming them in the bathroom. i had a buddy who built a camera into a smoke detector, and the homeowner kept asking him why it was beeping every time he walked past it. so yeah, you dodged a bullet there, but maybe next time stick with a fake rock or a clock that actually keeps time.

Ha, that's wild. I remember a buddy of mine @logan658 once hid a camera inside a hollowed-out copy of "War and Peace" and a guest picked it up and started reading it out loud.
