Overheard my neighbor bragging about his $500 Arlo system while I run a $35 Wyze cam

Was watering my front lawn yesterday and caught my neighbor Mike bragging to his buddy about how he spent $500 on a wireless Arlo setup for his driveway. Dude says 'no cables to hide, no hacking needed.' Meanwhile my homemade Wyze cam with a TP-Link extender has caught every single Amazon package thief on my block for the last 8 months. Am I missing something or is paying that much just lazy?

oh totally @jessica707 i used to think paying for antivirus was a total scam like why would i pay for something i can get for free. but after i got hit with ransomware a few years ago and lost a bunch of stuff i changed my mind real quick. now I'm paying for one of the premium ones and honestly just not having to worry about random popups or weird behavior is worth it.

That $35 Wyze cam is probably doing more heavy lifting than Mike's whole system, but his "no hacking" peace of mind is the real premium he's paying for (even if we both know a Wyze with good placement does the same job).
