Mesh tape versus paper tape, I finally picked a side

I used to think mesh tape was the best for quick jobs, but now I see paper tape makes stronger seams. The extra time with paper means no cracks later on. What do you guys use?

Totally see that with paper tape being worth the extra time. Feels like a lot of stuff is like that, where the fast or cheap way just leads to more work fixing it later.

My last shortcut was re-grouting with toothpaste (don't ask how that went).

My old apartment had a bathroom tile disaster from using the wrong sealer. I learned the hard way that skipping steps just means you'll redo the whole job next year. Now I just buy the right stuff and do it once.
