Took me 4 hours to find a zipper that actually matched my fabric color.

I needed a deep teal zipper for a dress I'm making and walked to three different stores before giving up and ordering online. Has anyone else spent way too long hunting for the perfect zipper shade?

Oh man, I gotta push back hard on this one. I actually love the hunt for a zipper in person it forces you to get creative and trust your eye instead of a screen. Half the time what looks like "deep teal" online shows up looking closer to navy or straight-up green when it arrives. Plus when you're standing there in the store you can hold the zipper right against your fabric and see how it catches the light. I've had way fewer disappointments buying in person even if it takes a few stops.

The hunt for the right zipper shade is basically a nightmare. I spent two hours at Joann's once just holding up different black zippers to black fabric like a crazy person. Online is definitely the way to go for anything off standard colors.

Funny thing @ward.jamie, what about the zipper tape color itself? Nobody talks about how a white tape on a black zipper can mess up your whole project if it peeks out.
