Unpopular opinion: I'm starting to see a lot more glue-down LVP failures than floating floor ones
Had a job from three weeks ago where the adhesive just gave up under a fridge, causing a full plank to pop loose. The homeowner said the room never got above 70 degrees, so it wasn't a heat thing. Anyone else seeing this specific type of failure pop up more often?

Oh man, does this remind me of my friend's laundry room? They had a glue-down plank just totally let go right in the middle of the floor, no appliance on it or anything. It wasn't even a year old! The installer tried to blame it on cleaning products, but they only ever used a damp mop. Makes me think some of these adhesives just don't hold up like they claim to.

Wait @beth276, a damp mop is what they blamed it on? That's wild, everyone knows you're not supposed to soak those things. Honestly sounds like the installer was just looking for any excuse to get out of the warranty, which is a bad look for the whole trade.

Honestly I was always told glue-down was the more solid choice for high traffic spots. But after seeing what @kaigibson described, and a few jobs around town, I'm not so sure anymore. It really does seem like some adhesives just fail for no clear reason. Tbh it makes me question if the floating floors have gotten better or the glue-down products have gotten worse. Either way, it's a bad look for the install.

My buddy had the exact same thing happen in his kitchen. Said it looked like the glue just turned to dust under the dishwasher. Makes you wonder about some of these adhesives.
