My coworker told me to move my crypto off Coinbase six months ago

He kept saying 'not your keys, not your coins' and that the SEC was going to cause problems. I thought he was just being paranoid, so I left most of my stuff on there for convenience. Then last month, my account got frozen for a week during a price dip while they 'verified' something. Missed a big sell chance. Anyone else get burned by leaving funds on a big exchange lately?

Oh wow, a whole week frozen? That's awful, and @jamie_adams makes a good point about listening to warnings.
