Fixed my leaky faucet with a smart valve, now I'm picturing homes that self-repair
It was a small win getting that valve installed. If tech gets better, maybe our houses will fix themselves one day. That would save a lot of time and trouble.

What made you believe in self-repair tech? I used to see it as pure fantasy, stuff for movies. But after messing with that smart valve, it feels like a small step toward bigger things. Sure, old houses have problems no gadget can fix yet, like wiring or plaster. Still, it's weird to think how far we might go from here...

My 1920s house has old wiring and plaster cracks no smart valve could fix. Houses are too complex for full self repair tech.

Wait, your house is from the 1920s? That's the part that got me. I mean, idk where you live but that just seems ancient to me. My apartment building is maybe from the 70s and I thought that was old. A house that old must have a million little secrets in the walls. Maybe it's just me but the idea of living somewhere that old feels kinda spooky.
