Switched from a watering can to a soaker hose for my flower beds
I spent 2 summers hauling a big watering can around my garden path, soaking the leaves more than the roots. Last month I grabbed a soaker hose from the hardware store for $18, laid it along the base of my roses, and now the soil stays damp for days without me lifting a finger. Has anyone else found an odd household tool that made yard work way easier?

lol the soaker hose trick is legit but careful leaving it on a low trickle for a half hour. my neighbor did that and ended up with a soggy mess around his peonies, plus the roots rotted out by july. i just run mine for like 10 minutes twice a week on a timer, keeps the soil damp without drowning everything. the real hack for me was using an old broom handle to poke holes in the hose for better coverage, worked way better than the factory holes.

dude yes the soaker hose is a game changer. i was doing the same thing with a watering can and it drove me nuts. last summer i got one of those old school metal sprinklers that shoots water in a circle, but that thing just soaked the lawn and barely got the flowers. ended up swapping it for a cheap soak hose too, and honestly i just leave it on a low trickle for a half hour in the morning. the hydrangeas and marigolds are way happier now, and i don't have to drag a hose around every day. it's wild how something so simple just works better.
