Reached out to my old high school buddy after 10 years and found out he joined a cult
I finally tracked down Mike from 11th grade chemistry class last week. We used to skip lunch and mess around with old car parts in his garage. Found him through his sister on Facebook. Turns out he moved to some commune in Oregon 5 years ago and now he's selling essential oils and talking about 'frequency healing'. I just wanted to see if he still had my old socket set. Has anyone else had a reunion go completely sideways like that?

Haha yeah I used to roll my eyes at people who get SUPER into one weird hobby but honestly seeing how much time and focus he puts into it kind of changed my mind. Maybe it's not about how "serious" the thing is but just having something that clicks for you. I know a guy who restores old lawnmowers and at first I thought it was dumb but now I get it. Sometimes you just need something that makes you forget about everything else for a while even if it seems goofy to outsiders.
