Tried filing a claim on the city app for a pothole that ate my tire
Three weeks later they emailed back saying the pothole wasn't on their list and I should have called 311 instead, anyone else get the runaround like that?

Three weeks is actually pretty fast for my neighborhood. I filed a similar claim back in April after a pothole near the bus stop on Elm Street shredded my sidewall. They emailed me two months later saying the pothole was "resolved" and attached a photo of a different street entirely. I called 311 and the lady was nice but said the app and the phone system don't talk to each other, so my claim basically vanished into a void. Took me another month and three follow-ups to get them to even look at the right pothole. Your mileage may vary but honestly I feel like they just make stuff up to close the ticket faster.

Yeah I had the same crap happen with a sidewalk issue. What finally worked for me was straight up emailing my city council rep with the ticket number and a photo. Had someone from public works call me the next day and it was fixed in a week. They hate getting looped in by elected officials so that usually lights a fire under them.

Huh, I don't know, man. I actually had a pretty decent experience with 311 for the same kind of thing, they patched my pothole in like two weeks without me having to bother anyone. Sounds like you maybe just got unlucky with a lazy crew that day.
