Lost $300 on a used quad that the seller swore just needed a carb clean
Spent three weekends tearing it apart only to find the crankcase was cracked and filled with metal shavings, has anyone else gotten burned by those 'easy fix' Facebook Marketplace listings?

Oh man, that "just needs a carb clean" line got me too! I bought a dirt bike last summer that was supposedly an easy fix and it turned out the transmission was completely shot. Pulled the engine apart and found pieces of a gear just floating around in the oil. I feel your pain on those three weekends, I spent a whole month of Saturdays on mine before I gave up and sold it for scrap.

Man, that's rough but I've been there too. Tried to fix a "simple" chainsaw that ended up needing a whole new piston and cylinder after the previous owner ran it with no mix. Some people just define "easy fix" in a really generous way, don't they?
