Picked the cheap drill over the fancy one for my tool bag and it's still kicking after 2 years

I went with a $40 Skil instead of the $150 Milwaukee at Home Depot because I figured if I lose it on the job I won't cry. Dude it's dropped off a ladder twice and still drills straight into concrete. Anyone else stick with budget gear and accidentally win?

Wait, is that the orange one with the weird trigger lock? I grabbed a Skil off a clearance rack for like 30 bucks three years ago and honestly I've abused the heck out of it and it still works better than it should... I used it to build a whole deck last summer and it didn't even bog down once.

Wait, does yours have that rubber grip that gets sticky after a while? I bought a no-name hammer drill from a pawn shop for 15 bucks maybe 4 years ago. The chuck is slightly crooked but it keeps going. Used it to mix paint one time (not smart, I know) and it smelled like burning for a week but never died. Thing just sits in my truck now as a backup but it still works every time I grab it.

Oh man, @grant478, hit that rubber grip with some rubbing alcohol it'll get the stickiness off without killing the drill.
