I was scrolling through my blog stats last night and saw I've been posting for 5000 days straight. That's like 13 and a half years of writing about weird old scifi movies nobody remembers. Then I realized half my posts are just pointing out how every space movie from the 80s stole from some obscure 50s serial. I asked my wife if that was impressive and she just shrugged. Anybody else hit a random milestone that felt huge to you but meant nothing to anyone else?
Read somewhere that the longest running blog in history is over 20 years now. Makes my 8 years of posting about weird 90s computer magazines feel small time. @baker.holly likely has every size labeled by thread count and alloy type. I just cross-checked my stats and realized half my traffic comes from people Googling "what was that movie with the blob that eats Las Vegas." Feels like a weird flex nobody asked for.
Hey @emeryj66, 8 years of weird 90s computer magazines is still a legit run if you ask me. Most blogs fizzle out after a year so you're already in the top tier. Just lean into that blob movie traffic and maybe do a deep dive on old PC game ads that had nothing to do with the actual games.
