A buddy at the post office told me I was scanning packages way too slow

He showed me this trick where you hold the scanner sideways and it catches the barcode in half the time. Has anyone else gotten weird workflow tips from coworkers that just clicked?

Huh, that sideways trick is interesting. Did he say why it works faster or is it just muscle memory from his own experience? I'm curious if the scanner picks up the code at a different angle or if it's just about how you hold your wrist. Seems like the kind of thing that could save minutes per shift if it's legit.

Oh man, I had a buddy who swore turning his scanner upside down was the secret and it just felt wrong but he was crazy fast with it. Never did explain the science behind it though, just said "it works" and kept moving.

Probably just wrist mojo, same reason some guys swear their ratchet works better upside down. Could be science, could be superstition, either way the clock doesn't argue.
