That self-checkout machine at Walmart in Lincoln stared at me for too long
I was scanning a bag of apples and the camera zoomed in on my face and held there for like 5 seconds before it let me continue. Anyone else get the creeps from those things eyeing you while you're just trying to buy groceries?

Dude my buddy Mark told me he was at the Lincoln Walmart last week and the self checkout camera zoomed in on his receding hairline and he swears it made a little scanning sound like it was trying to identify some rare species of balding man. He said he just stood there frozen until the machine beeped and let him buy his frozen pizza.

Oh man, that camera zoom thing happened to me too but with a bag of onions and I swear it followed my face as I tried to look away like some kind of weird robot paparazzi. I was convinced it caught me sneezing into my elbow and was about to put my face on a Most Wanted list at the local Walmart (you know, for public sniffling or something). The machine probably thought I was a famous criminal but really I'm just a guy who can't figure out why the "weigh your produce" button takes three tries to register. I half expected it to play a dramatic record scratch sound and ask "are you sure you're not a wanted fugitive named Steve from Omaha?"
Honestly I get why they have cameras for theft prevention but being digitally stared down by a monitor while buying a gallon of milk and some crackers is not the customer experience I signed up for. Might start wearing sunglasses to the grocery store just to avoid the awkward eye contact with a screen.
