My repair backlog grew thanks to slow part deliveries.

That chip shortage pain is too real. I got stuck waiting on a simple USB port controller last month, so now I keep a few of those and common charging ICs on hand. @shane_hayes has the right idea with the basic repair kit. My bench drawer has little bins for the parts that always seem to die, mostly salvaged from old boards. It doesn't fix every wait, but it cuts down on the small annoying delays.

My little brother painted my project car with house paint.

That sounds like a special kind of pain (I feel for you). Good intentions really can lead to the worst jobs sometimes. Sanding that off is going to be a long, boring process.

Switching to a new brand of drysuit without a test dive was my worst mistake

Check the back neck seam, always goes first.

Mastered a tricky herringbone pattern after watching old tutorials

Actually, @max_brown, I used to feel the exact same way about it just being wood. Changed my mind after watching them take down the big old oak in my grandma's yard last year. That tree was older than her house, home to so many birds and squirrels. Seeing it just gone, a flat empty spot in the ground... it hit different. Makes you realize it's a whole living thing, not just material. So now I get why people make a thing about it.

Warning: Our book club's chili cook-off debate ended in a smoky kitchen

Lol the real danger is book club politics lasting way longer than chili smoke smell. At least when Mark's weird coffee chili spills, you can air out the kitchen by morning. But someone getting offended over a novel's politics? That awkwardness sticks around for three meetings minimum. Food messes are temporary, literary grudges are forever.
