Just realized I've done over 2,500 lifts with my current mobile crane without a single rigging incident.

I mean, I was just updating my logbook yesterday and the number hit me, idk, maybe it's just me but that's a lot of days where everything just went right, anyone else ever get surprised by a safety streak like that?

TIL my friend thought a 30% credit card balance was 'good' for his score

We were talking about buying a new TV and he said he keeps his card at about $1,500 out of a $5,000 limit on purpose. He thought using a lot of his available credit showed he was a 'good customer'. I had to explain that using more than 30% of your limit can actually hurt your score, and under 10% is the real sweet spot. I showed him my own score jump 40 points last year just by paying my cards down before the statement date. Has anyone else had to gently correct a friend on a basic credit rule like this?

Tried a new weld prep method on some 3/4 inch plate and it backfired

I was working on a pressure vessel in Tulsa last week and decided to use a 37.5 degree bevel instead of my usual 30, thinking it would give better penetration. The weld puddle went all weird and I ended up with some serious undercut along the root pass. What's the best way to fix undercut on a thick joint without grinding the whole thing out?

Just got back from Lisbon and found a huge money saver

The city has free public water fountains everywhere, so I filled my bottle for a week and saved about 30 euros on buying water. Has anyone found a similar trick in other European cities?

Showerthought: My last drawing set spent more time in review than in my hands

Honestly, I just finished a job where the client kept asking for tweaks every single day. Tbh, it felt like I was redrawing the same plans over and over for weeks. For example, they'd approve a layout, then come back wanting a door moved two inches. That tiny change meant redoing all the related details and recalculating everything. Ngl, I missed my deadline because of all the back and forth. It's so frustrating when you're ready to move on but get stuck in limbo. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of never ending review cycle?

Just realized my camping stove was too slow during a morning chill

Honestly, I was out in the hills last weekend and mornings were freezing. Tbh, waiting for water to boil felt like forever with my old stove. Ngl, it kinda ruined the start of each day. That made me really pay attention to review sections about heat-up times. Now I get why folks talk about quick boil gear in their posts.
