My sibling wants to join me in the hot shop, but I'm torn on the idea.

Yeah, that's exactly it. The trick is to break the big thing you're doing into tiny, visible steps for them, like showing them how you pack your water and check the forecast. They only see the cool end result, not the boring prep work. So next time, maybe have him help you get ready for an hour instead of just diving in. It builds up that mental muscle for the boring parts, you know, before the actual fun or hard part even starts. Makes the whole process less of a shock when the heat hits.

Question about native shrubs for trail dirt loss

Two whole seasons before it held? That's a long time to wait. I would have given up and used rocks again after the first washout. Your patience really shows how plants beat gravel in the end.

Appreciation post: How sitting on my hands during a hot market actually worked

Funny how waiting filters out two types of buyers. The ones who panic-buy anything just to get in a house, and the ones who actually know what they want. Saw people in spring overpay for terrible layouts just to win. By fall, those same rushed buyers were already complaining about their bad choices, while the patient folks could pick a house that actually worked for them.

My bench press arch gives out after a few reps and I can't fix it

Lol, your tip about snapping the bar in half reminded me of my own disaster attempts. I used to lose my arch so bad that my spotter thought I was trying to do a decline press by accident. Honestly, being mean about shoulder blades never worked for me because I'd forget after two reps. What finally helped was just like Alice said, practicing the arch empty handed between sets. But even now, if I get too tired, my form goes out the window and I look like a folded lawn chair. Maybe I need to get meaner with myself, lmao.

My manager's daily status updates are driving me crazy

Ugh, I feel this. My old job was exactly the same, just drowning in updates. You have to push back, really. Try asking your manager if you can switch to a weekly summary, because the daily stuff is impacting your real work. Frame it as you wanting to do better on your actual tasks, not just the reports. A good boss should hear that. If they don't, it's a real sign of a bad work culture.
