Showerthought: The old way of doing a 30 foot hull clean is just wrong now.

Honestly that new water jet stuff seems like a hassle waiting to happen. Tbh all that extra gear and high pressure just means more things to break down on the job. The old brush method is simple and you know it works every single time. Ngl I've seen guys try the fancy systems and then waste more time fixing them than they ever saved. Sometimes the slow way is the right way because it's reliable.

Finally figured out my brisket was drying out because I was wrapping it way too early... my neighbor saw my cook and just said 'your bark looks pale, man'.

That "waiting for the bark to set" thing is everywhere once you see it. It's like not touching paint to see if it's dry, or not lifting the lid on rice. The trick is always doing nothing when you really want to do something. Drives me nuts, but it's usually the right move.

TIL my tape measure was off by a quarter inch after a whole house job

Speed square's good, but I trust a combo square more.

Can we talk about how a decentralized social app handled a takedown notice last month?

What kind of harmful content are you worried about?

I actually started trusting the 'no added sugar' label on my yogurt after checking the ingredient list for 3 months straight.

Yeah, the "fruit juice concentrate" trick gets me every time. I started looking at the "Total Sugars" line on the nutrition panel instead of just the ingredients. If it's super high, I know they just used a different name for sugar, even if the front says "no added sugar.
