I spent a whole semester once trying to teach narrative structure, and half the kids ended up with stories that felt like fill-in-the-blank exercises. It's crazy how the three-act formula can strangle the life out of a spontaneous idea. You should definitely let prompts be messy again, because that organic spark is what makes writing fun. Sometimes the best inspiration comes from ignoring the rules entirely.

Totally get this. Overpacking is a trap, man. On my last biz trip, I had like four outfits per day and wasted so much time deciding. Ended up wearing the same jeans three times, lmao.
