Spent $40 on a show everyone said was great. Could not get past episode 3.
Everyone in my friend group was raving about this new sci-fi series. They said it was the next big thing. So I paid for a month of the streaming service just to watch it, that's $40 gone. The plot moved so slow and the characters were flat. I gave it three full episodes before I quit. Has anyone else dropped cash on a show that just didn't click for them? What was it?

Totally get that, and sean_green44 has a point about slow burns. Dropped the same amount on a show everyone loved, but the main character just annoyed me too much to keep going. Sometimes you just have to trust your gut and cut your losses.

Three episodes isn't enough time for a complex sci-fi world to build. Shows like The Expanse took a full season to find their footing before becoming amazing. You might have quit right before it got great.
