The foreman on my last job said something that stuck with me about drywall

He told me 'cut twice, hang once' after I messed up a sheet on a 14-foot ceiling. Has anyone else had a simple phrase from a coworker completely change how they work?

Ah, nah man, the other commenter's missing the point. Yeah, it's a play on the old saying but context changes everything. That "measure twice" stuff is for carpentry where you can recut a board. Drywall's different. You can't just trim a half inch off a sheet without it looking rough. The foreman was saying plan your cuts before you even lift the board. That's solid advice for anyone who's fought a sheet on a high ceiling.

Oh come on. It's just a play on "measure twice cut once." Don't think it's some life-changing quote. He was just trying to make you not waste another sheet of drywall.
