Finally got a tricky quarter crack to hold after three attempts

Was working on a big draft horse in Springfield last week, and the patch just wouldn't seat right. I ended up using a smaller burr to clean the crack and a different type of acrylic, which finally did the trick. Anyone have a go-to acrylic for tough cases like this?

Ever think you just need to switch materials? I was all about one brand until a case like yours made me try something else.

What's the actual problem with the gear? Because if it's just a comfort thing, sure, try new stuff. But if it's a core function failing, that's what logan525 is really talking about. Sentiment doesn't fix a broken tool. Sometimes the brand you love just changes and you have to let it go.

Yeah, I've been using the same brand for like three years now. I mean, maybe I'm just too loyal to a fault. It's probably time I admit my gear has more sentimental value than actual use at this point. I get weirdly attached to things that are clearly not working anymore. So yeah, you're probably right, I should just try something new already.

Had a quarter crack last month that was a real pain. I switched to Equi-Thane Flex after the regular stuff failed, and it held. It's got a longer working time so you can really pack it in. @patricia262 is right about function over brand loyalty, that mindset made me try it.
