My coworker flat out told me my emails were too long and now I keep them to 3 sentences max

She said nobody reads paragraphs at work and she was right. I cut all the fluff and my response rate actually went up. Anyone else get called out for something small like this and it made a huge difference?

Does that mean @drewr15 is just forwarding blank emails now? Idk, it feels like the same thing happens with voicemails or text messages too - people just want the point, not the whole story.

Man I feel this on a spiritual level lol. My coworker Jessica sent me a 3 paragraph email yesterday about some meeting notes and I swear I just read the subject line that said "Meeting Recap" and closed it. Two hours later she asks if I saw the action items and I'm like "action whats?" Had to pretend I was swamped just to buy time to actually open it again. Even with texts I'm the same way - if you send more than 3 lines I'm probably just skimming the first sentence and guessing the rest. Saves so much time even if it backfires half the time.
