Remember when we had to cut every seam by hand with a knife?
I was cleaning out my old van last week and found a box of my first tools from maybe 15 years ago. There was a worn-out hook blade knife and a metal straight edge. It hit me how long it took to do a simple seam back then, checking and re-checking the line. Now, with a power stretcher and a good seam cutter, I can do a whole room's seams in the time it used to take for one. The biggest change was getting a Roberts 10-550 cutter about five years back. That thing just zips through the backing. It's not just faster, the seams are cleaner and hold better. I don't miss those hand cramps at all. What's the one old tool you're glad you don't have to use anymore?
