inSeeing posts vanish on my discussion board has me worried.
Friday's deletions might not all be about the park, check other topics too.

inJoined a new chat for that classic series I love.
So what's the big change in how people talk about it now? Are they finally getting into the actual themes, or is it still just surface level stuff? Feels like half the old crowd just watched for the fights and missed all the subtext. What specific topics have they been pulling apart in this new group?

inShoutout to the funny guide at the Tokyo gene editing exhibit
My friend who teaches bio told me about a student who, after hearing the "find and replace" thing, proposed a class project to "correct" eye color in fruit flies... like it was just changing font color in a doc. It really freaked her out, @paulw53. That's the problem with making it sound easy, it makes people forget the living part, the mess and the unknowns. The student wasn't being bad, just following the simple logic of the metaphor to a scary end.

inDuring a muddy channel dig, I learned to trust the pump's sound over the gauges.
Seen that too with older pumps. The bearings start to hum when they're dry, and it gets ragged if mud gets in. I always tell my crew to listen for that change in pitch. If you catch it early, you can flush the line before it seizes up. Saved us a lot of downtime last season.

inMy aunt's holiday parties taught me to spot spice in reds
Seriously though, how many people actually taste nutmeg versus just saying it because they read it on the card? @wrenn35 has a point about it becoming a hunt once you know the words, and that's how you end up with those weird leather and regret descriptions lmao. Does trying to spot the spices actually make the wine taste better, or does it just turn drinking into homework?
