inSerious question, my rice and beans cost came out to 71 cents a serving and I don't know if that's good
71 cents is solid, but I want to know what you're counting. Did you add in the onion, the oil if you used any, and the gas or electric for simmering that pot for an hour plus? I ask because my own math got way less impressive once I started tracking the little stuff, like a $1.29 onion that only half goes in the pot, or the fact that dried beans take forever on my old stove. So what's your serving size too, like a cup of cooked rice plus beans or a bigger bowl? That number swings a lot depending on how hungry you are at 7pm.

inThat $14 gym app sold my address to a debt collector
Did he actually sign anything or did they just pull his info from somewhere? I had this happen with a fake "free trial" thing and the fix was calling the gym in writing, like certified letter, and telling them to prove there's a signed contract. Most of these places fold fast once you ask for the paper trail. Also tell him to check his credit card statements for small recurring charges, they like to start tiny so you don't notice.

inMy sister called the show I love 'background noise for folding laundry' and now I'm questioning everything
My wife does the exact same thing with those home reno shows on HGTV, they're on from like 6pm to 10pm every night while she scrolls her phone and she couldn't tell you the name of a single couple from any episode. But here's the thing I keep noticing, it's everywhere now, not just TV. I'll be at a restaurant and look around and half the tables are on their phones while the food sits there, or I'm at a red light and the guy next to me is watching a video. We've all kind of agreed that being fully present for one thing is too much to ask, so we just stack stuff on top of each other and call it relaxing. The part that gets me is your sister wasn't even trying to be mean, she probably really believes that's what TV is for now, just something to fill the quiet. So when you sit down with your coffee and actually watch your show, you're doing something that's almost becoming rare, and that's probably why it stung, because it felt like she was saying that kind of attention doesn't matter anymore.
